Greetings!

Greetings from the small but mighty Omicron Upsilon Omega (OUO) chapter! Proudly serving the Stamford-Norwalk area of Fairfield County Connecticut. In conjunction with the Cultured Pearl Foundation we bring the international programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® to the community through impactful service, scholarships and civic engagement.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was founded on January 15, 1908 by black collegiate women attending Howard University. The sorority has been serving communities nationally and abroad for over 116 years. Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, we are Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood, by Empowering Our Families, Building Economic Wealth, Enhancing Our Environment, Advocating for Social Justice, Uplifting Our Community and Strengthening Our Sisterhood.

OUO was chartered April 27, 1985 by 25 women committed to serving the needs of their local community in Stamford and Norwalk, CT. Members of OUO work collaboratively to bring dynamic programming to the local community. If you are a member of our beloved sisterhood looking for a home, please consider visiting Omicron Upsilon Omega, where you will find grace and love await you. If you are in the Fairfield county area, please be on the lookout for events to partner with us in Service to All-Mankind.

Humbly,

Shelika K. Tate

Omicron Upsilon Omega

Since April 27, 1985, when our 25 charter members established Omicron Upsilon Omega Chapter, we have remained dedicated to our core values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service in Lower Fairfield County. We believe in the power of community and the potential of every individual. Our commitment to empowering others and driving positive change in the Stamford and Norwalk communities has remained unwavering, thriving well into our fourth decade of service.

Our Events

Omicron Upsilon Omega is Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood where we are on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy.  As a chapter we are following the 5 International Program initiatives:

* Empower Of Families:  OUO is uplifting our community by addressing child hunger and promoting youth leadership.

* Build Our Economic Wealth:  We are encouraging our community to build personal, organizational, and community economic wealth while uplifting black-owned businesses.

* Enhance Our Environment:  OUO is committed to promoting the adoption of more sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

* Advocate For Social Justice:  Our goal is to engage and empower our community with the tools, knowledge, and support to activate their voices.

* Uplift Our Local Community:  We are celebrating local communities impact via recognition awards and notable community service grants.
